2022 State Team Head Coach Applications Now Open

Basketball Queensland (BQ) is now accepting applications from suitable candidates to apply for 2022 State Team Head Coach positions (volunteer position) in the 2022 Queensland State Team Program.

Under 16 South Girl's Head Coach
Under 16 South Boy's Head Coach

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview after applications have closed.

BQ will only accept applications from holders of a current, valid Blue Card/Exemption Card at the time of application (evidence must be included with the application form). All Queensland State Team Head Coaches are expected to hold a minimum Association Coach (Level 2) Accreditation or currently enrolled in BQ Association Coach Accreditation course.

Course and be registered with BQ via the OwnUrGoal app. 

All State Team Head Coaches will be expected to attend SPP trials, training sessions, preparation camps and be available to travel to the Australian Junior Championships (AJCs). Travel to AJCs is covered by BQ.

Assistant and Development Coach Positions

State Team Assistant (36 positions yearly) and Development Coaches (10 positions yearly), as well as U15 Emerging Coaches, are selected from the Aspire Coach program, the BQ pathway in high performance coaching.

The Aspire Coach program involves a number of learning opportunities both on the court and in the classroom. BQ is committed to providing consistent education throughout the year for Aspire program coaches. Along with this, coaches will be given opportunities to coach at BQ programs such as FDP and SPP. This is the start of the pathway which will put coaches in a position to be QLD State Team staff as Development Coaches, Assistant Coaches and potentially Head Coaches.
