Our mission

The Basketball Queensland Indigenous Pathways Program (BQIPP) aims to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples basketball participation by engaging, promoting, and delivering a range of culturally inclusive sport and physical activities throughout Queensland.

BQIPP is committed to promoting cultural immersion and creating a pathway that is a culturally safe environment for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through basketball.

First Nation Championships

About

The 2023 Basketball QLD (BQ) First Nations Championships is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, sports, and culture, through the engagement of First Nations peoples, collaborating with other Australians to join the sporting showcase held on the Gold Coast to at North Gold Coast Basketball from Wednesday 13th of December to Saturday 16th of December.

Team registration fees are as follows; $500/team for Open Men's & Women's and Masters divisions, $400/team for U18 Boys and Girls. There can be a maximum of TWO non-First Nations players registered to each team.

The Championships include the BQ First Nations Junior Camp, BQ Coaches Workshop and BQ Referees Workshop.
