- Member of the Eagles Basketball Club, Toowoomba
- Co-founder of the Toowoomba Ladies’ Basketball Association
- Toowoomba Delegate to the Queensland Women’s Amateur Basketball Association from formation in 1955 until 1971
- Serving as President for a period of time
- Known as the “Mother” of Women’s Basketball in Toowoomba
- Selection in the Queensland Women’s Senior Team which contested the Australian Championships in 1959 and 1961
- 1959 received a Qld Silver Medallion for the Queensland Centenary- Captained a Qld touring team in 1960
- 1971 Marie had been appointed manageress of the Queensland Women’s team only a week before she died unexpectedly, aged 36
