Our mission

The Basketball Queensland Indigenous Pathways Program (BQIPP) aims to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples basketball participation by engaging, promoting, and delivering a range of culturally inclusive sport and physical activities throughout Queensland.

BQIPP is committed to promoting cultural immersion and creating a pathway that is a culturally safe environment for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through basketball.

Details

The Basketball Queensland First Nations Junior League is designed to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people through basketball. Open to all skill levels, the league offers a welcoming space to connect, grow, and showcase talent while celebrating culture and community. U18 Boys and Girls divisions will run across four Saturdays, with younger divisions to follow at a later date.

The Basketball Queensland (BQ) First Nations Championships is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, sports, and culture, through the engagement of First Nations peoples, collaborating with other Australians to join the sporting showcase held on the Gold Coast to at North Gold Coast Basketball from Monday 16th of December to Friday 20th of December.
