Elite pathway for Wheelchair athletes

National Junior Wheelchair Championships (NJWC), previously Kevin Coombs Cup, is the Australian National Championship for wheelchair basketball. These championships present the only opportunity for junior wheelchair basketballers to represent their state in a National Championship. The age groups for the NJWC are based on international junior wheelchair basketball age groups; Under-23 for Males and Under-25 for Females.

Selection process

Selection Process will be via Expression of Interest.  From the EOI players will be invited to a full state camp selection trials / weekend should they meet the selection eligibility.

Eligibility

  • Qld Resident
  • Males aged 22 and under in year of competition
  • Females aged 24 and under in year of competition
  • Currently holding or eligible to hold a National Wheelchair Basketball Classification
  • Currently participating in a Qld domestic competition or approved interstate/international program

Trials

Approximately Nov/Dec dependant upon national calendar of events.
