Basketball Queensland Partners with AUSA Hoops

Basketball Queensland (BQ) is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with AUSA Hoops for the remainder of 2024.

AUSA Hoops is Australia’s leading pathway to college basketball in the United States and has helped over 200 players secure scholarships, including athletes from diverse backgrounds and levels of experience.

The partnership will see AUSA Hoops host a player and parent information evening at each of the upcoming CBSQ School Tournaments. This session will feature information on navigating the US College Pathway and how AUSA supports athletes as they embark on their recruitment journey.  AUSA will also present to a group of State Performance Program athletes during Term Four.

There are currently more than 30 Queensland athletes competing in US College pathways, including athletes that have been assisted by AUSA, such as Mason Honeyman, Kate Head, and Jaylen Pittman.

BQ General Manager of Basketball, Todd Flahey, is excited to see more QLD talent reach the US College system and beyond.

“Basketball offers unique opportunities that set it apart from AFL and Rugby League, particularly through the ability to earn U.S. college scholarships.
Partnering with AUSA will allow Queenslanders the ability to pursue higher education while playing elite-level basketball, opening doors to both academic and professional success,” said Flahey.

AUSA Hoops General Manager Ed Summers, is excited to partner with BQ and educate Queensland players on how to get to the next level.

AUSA Hoops is thrilled to partner with Basketball Queensland to provide best practice education on college pathways for young athletes and their families. Queensland has consistently produced exceptional talent, and our mission is to empower these athletes by guiding them through the process of securing collegiate opportunities in the United States.”

“By collaborating with BQ, we can further our reach and help even more Queensland athletes achieve their dreams, both on and off the court,” said Ed Summers.
