Basketball Queensland (BQ) regrets to announce that the Rockhampton Cyclones have made the difficult decision to withdraw from the 2024 Mitsubishi Motors National NBL1 Championships on the Sunshine Coast. This decision was made after careful consideration of athlete availability and player welfare.

With the North Conference women’s position now vacant, BQ conducted a process based on the National Ladder System implemented by NBL1 to identify a suitable replacement.

In light of this, we are pleased to confirm that the Southern Districts Spartans women’s team will step in to represent the North Conference at the Mitsubishi Motors NBL1 National Championships. We appreciate their readiness to compete at such short notice and their commitment to ensuring the North Conference is well-represented.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Rockhampton Cyclones on an outstanding season, and extend our gratitude to the Southern Districts Spartans for taking up this opportunity and wish them the best of luck in the competition.
