Basketball Queensland is excited to release the official draw for the upcoming 2025 Queensland State League (QSL) season!
With 76 teams representing 17 individual associations, spanning from Gladstone in the north to the Gold Coast in the south, and out to Toowoomba in the west, the 2025 QSL promises to be the biggest and most exciting season yet.
QSL is split into Division 1, Division 2, Youth League 1, Youth League 2 and Youth League 3, with both Men’s and Women’s competitions available across the levels of play. A staggering 606 games, including finals, will be played this season, tipping off on March 21 2025.
Jarryd Moss, Basketball Queensland’s Competitions and Community Manager, shared his insights on the upcoming season.
“Following the 2024 season, we conducted a comprehensive review of our Senior Representative Competitions as part of a full review and Strategic Plan for our Competitions department. It became clear that the QSL is the genuine pathway for Queensland juniors into Senior Representative basketball."
"The league presents a broad range of opportunities for players, coaches, officials, media/marketing professionals, volunteers, and administrators to develop and grow together.”
This year sees exciting growth within the league, including the addition of a QSL Youth League 3 Men’s division and a record number of Senior Women’s teams. “With 76 teams across 9 divisions,” Moss added, “there is sure to be some exciting action across the 2025 season.”
Basketball Queensland is also committed to elevating the league’s profile in 2025, looking to work alongside associations to highlight the achievements of the QSL community with increased visibility of the league and its participants.
The commitment to excellence extends to officiating as well, with the introduction of 3-person officiating across all QSL1 games.
“We are also excited to be working more closely with our Technical Officials Department to ensure the QSL continues to be one of the best officiated State Leagues in the country. We’re particularly proud of the addition of 3-person officiating (3PO), showing our league’s commitment to increasing the professionalism of the league," Moss stated.
