Basketball Queensland Announces the Departure of Jordan Bartley

Basketball Queensland would like to announce that after four years of dedicated service, Jordan Bartley will be departing from his role as our Technology and Development Officer. Jordan has been a key contributor to the organisation, and his impact has been vital in implementing change and supporting our associations.
Jordan joined Basketball Queensland in September 2019 as part of our technology team, supporting Tom Kyle in the development of the OwnUrGoal app. He quickly became an essential figure in ensuring players and coaches across Queensland could engage with the app effectively, helping to make basketball more accessible and enjoyable.
Following the success of OwnUrGoal, Jordan played a pivotal role in the statewide implementation of BasketballConnect. He led the charge in training associations, guiding them through the platform setup, and ensuring a smooth transition. His dedication, technical expertise, and approachable nature made a significant difference in helping associations navigate this new system with confidence.
Beyond his contributions off the court, Jordan is an accomplished wheelchair basketball player. Before joining BQ, he played at the University of Alabama, showcasing his skills on the collegiate stage. Since then, he has represented Queensland at national and international levels, recently earning a spot in the Australian Rollers Extended Squad for 2025 - a testament to his incredible talent and perseverance.
Reflecting on his time at Basketball Queensland, Jordan shared:
"I want to thank Tom Kyle for taking a chance on me and opening my eyes to a career in IT. To Joshua Pascoe, Kimberley Hibbert, Todd Flahey, and all my BQ colleagues over the years - working alongside you has been an absolute pleasure, and I’m grateful for both the opportunities and friendships we’ve built.
A special thanks to everyone at the BQ Associations for your collaboration and the relationships we’ve formed. I’d also like to thank Jacqui Russell for her support over the last couple of months. I’ve truly enjoyed my time at BQ and look forward to staying in touch and catching up with you all very soon."
Jordan's commitment and passion for the sport have been invaluable to Basketball Queensland. His contributions, both on and off the court, have left a lasting impression, and we are grateful for everything he has achieved during his time with us.
On behalf of everyone at Basketball Queensland, we would like to thank Jordan for his hard work and dedication. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and know that he will continue to make an impact wherever he goes.
